11-14 November, 2013 – Bilbao, Spain

Investors and American Experts Praise the Innovation and Expertise of Basque Companies

Over 300 attendees, including companies and executives from NegoBide and Círculo Empresarial Negocios y Valores, participated in USA Week. Nearly a hundred made contact with American investors to explore strategic business projects. The American participants had the opportunity to learn about the main activity clusters and visit key Basque infrastructure networks, including high-speed transport systems and some of Europe's leading technological and energy centers.

The first edition of USA Week Europe, a business event held in Bilbao to showcase significant projects planned by the U.S. for the next decade, concluded with positive feedback and an intense agenda of activities linked to the most dynamic sectors of the economy: infrastructure, energy, technology, and industry. American investors and experts praised the innovation and expertise of Basque companies, noting the high level of the participants.

Supported by the Basque Government through SPRI, the Basque Business Development Agency, this significant event aimed to foster the interest of Basque companies in internationalizing or expanding their economic activities. The Minister of Economic Development and Competitiveness, Arantza Tapia, highlighted the event's importance in promoting business relationships and investment in foreign markets. She also mentioned potential collaborations between a prominent Basque electronics company and an American counterpart.

Throughout the four days of business meetings, major American companies and interested investors engaged with key Basque activity clusters and business associations. They also visited essential infrastructure networks, such as high-speed transport systems and leading European technological and energy centers. Sector-specific sessions revealed substantial investment projects and strategies for Basque companies seeking to invest or expand in North America, with authorities from California and Virginia outlining infrastructure projects worth over $150 billion.
